Subject: Keywords
Rich Earl's initially posted on the Subject: Keywords Tag, then Shari
Thurow commented:
The 2 most important places to put your keywords are in your title and in your main body content.
Yes, assume that for a typical engine this may account for 60-90% of your score, so it makes sense to place most of your efforts here. In fact, Shari's manifesto on how to: lower case, analyze your site statistics, optimize for more than one keyword or keyword phrase, et al was quite good.
First and foremost, do NOT obsess over your meta-tags. Your meta-tag content will not make or break your search engine rankings.
Well, this is sorta true... but I have to disagree just a bit. You can see that while title, content and one other factor account for most of your score, but if you ignore that little 10% extra, you can still come up short. I have to tell you, I am not an obsessive-compulsive kinda guy, but I do obsess over every
facet of putting a web site together.
